Joaquin Phoenix reprises his role as “Batman” villain Arthur Fleck in “Joker”. To follow up on the success of his 2019 film Joker which grossed over $1 billion around the world director Todd Phillips is working on a sequel. There have been some recent exciting developments regarding the upcoming production and now that we know the official release date.
When Will Joker 2 be Released?
Phillips thankfully confirmed the news in June by posting an Instagram photo of the screenplay’s cover. The post announced the film’s official title, “Joker: Folie Deux” and confirmed that the director and co-writer, Scott Silver, would be back to continue telling the story of the notorious villain.

On December 11, 2022 production of “Joker: Folie Deux” began. Although the first film only took about three months to shoot, the sequel is expected to take a little longer due to its larger budget and more complex musical set pieces and filming is expected to wrap in late March or early April 2023.
