The headmistress of Epsom College, her husband and their daughter were discovered dead in a house on the school’s campus. On Sunday at 01:10 GMT, the bodies were discovered. Surrey Police Department officers expressed certainty that no third-party participation existed.
The community of Epsom, England came together to digest the news, weep and pay our respects, as the school put it. Det Ch Insp Kimball Edey said,
On behalf of Surrey Police, my colleagues and I first want to express my heartfelt condolences to the friends and family of Emma, Lettie and George and to the students and staff of Epsom College for their awful loss. I want to assure you that we will conduct a thorough investigation into what happened… I pray that we can bring some calm to this tense situation. Please respect their need for privacy at this trying time.
Ms. Pattison spent six years as the principal of Croydon High School in south London before becoming the first female principal of Epsom High. According to Companies House, her husband George was a chartered accountant and the director of Tanglewood 2016, a management consultancy. (According to BBC.com reporting)
The institution tweeted, We hope everyone will respect the privacy of Emma’s family at this time and allow the college’s students, staff and the wider community the time and space necessary to come to terms with this tragedy.

A colleague at Epsom was remembered as a superb teacher but most of all a delightful person by the chair of the board of governors. Dr. Alastair Wells spoke for all of Epsom College when he said, “On behalf of everyone here, I want to voice our profound sorrow and disbelief at this dreadful news”.

Police have not said what caused the deaths of the three people, although the Telegraph said shots were fired nearby before the bodies were found.
