When Season 28 of Diablo III launches players will have access to a brand new way to advance their characters, but it won’t come without costs. The Altar of Rites is a talent tree–like system where players can choose permanent account-wide character buffs and Legendary potions for the duration of Season 28.
All players start with the same conditions for unlocking the first node: kill streak timers and reward bonuses are doubled. As they progress further down the talent tree, players will be faced with increasingly difficult choices as the cost to unlock each node rises.
