Beginning on ABC on January 27, 1976, and running for eight seasons until May 10, 1983, Laverne & Shirley (originally starring Laverne DeFazio and Shirley Feeney) is a popular American sitcom. Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams are featured as Laverne DeFazio and Shirley Feeney, respectively, in the Happy Days spin-off Laverne & Shirley.
The two women worked as bottle-cappers at the made-up Shotz Brewery in late 1950s Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Beginning with season six, the show is set in 1960s Burbank, California. Eddie Mekka played Carmine Ragusa, Phil Foster played Laverne’s father Frank DeFazio, and Betty Garrett played the girls’ landlord Edna Babish.
Co-stars Michael McKean and David Lander played their friends and neighbors Lenny Kosnowski and Andrew “Squiggy” Squiggman, respectively.
