The Netflix film is tied for the second-most nominated film with The Banshees of Inisherin. The film is based on a 1929 novel of the same name, written from the point of view of a German soldier during World War I. Authored by Erich Maria Remarque, this book has earned its place among the canon’s finest works of military fiction.
