Mayans M.C. is ending its run on FX. This comes months after the network renewed the show for a fifth season. At the beginning of FX’s presentation at the Television Critics Association’s winter 2023 press tour, John Landgraf, chairman of FX Content and FX Productions, revealed that Season 5 of “Mayans M.C.” would be it’s last.

JD Pardo stars as Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes, a member of the Mayans Motorcycle Club charter on the border of California and Mexico, in this FX series that takes place in the same universe as the original “Sons of Anarchy,” which aired from 2008 to 2014.

After a failed attempt to align under one King, he and his brother Angel (Clayton Cardenas) and the rest of the Santo Padre M.C. face retaliation from other chapters. Meanwhile, after a devastating betrayal, EZ and Angel have grown apart from their father Felipe (Edward James Olmos). Others featured include Danny Pino, Carla Baratta, Michael Irby, Raoul Max Trujillo, Emilio Rivera, Sarah Bolger, Frankie Loyal, Joseph Lucero and Vincent Vargas.

It comes as no surprise that the series is ending, as co-creator Elgin James has stated openly that he had already planned out the finale. At the Season 4 red carpet premiere, he told Variety, “We know where it ends.” This is the very final shot, and I know just how to take it. Since it doesn’t appear in Season 4, I’m going to assume there will be at least one more. But we know the endpoint, and we’ve been moving in that direction for some time.
