Mandalorian Season 3

There’s still a long road ahead for the character and Season 3 is where she’s expected to really start making an impact. After the events of The Book of Boba Fett, it is unknown if Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett and Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano will return for Season 3.

It’s likely that Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) will accompany Boba Fett back to the galaxy if he does return. Christopher Lloyd and Tim Meadows join the cast this season in unnamed roles. Cara Dune star Gina Carano has decided not to return. Following her controversial social media posts, Disney and Lucasfilm severed all ties with the actor.

It currently appears unlikely that the character will be recast though that is not to say it won’t happen. The big question on the minds of The Mandalorian’s viewers is whether or not Grogu will appear in Season 3. Anyone who saw the final episode of The Book of Boba Fett knows that everyone’s favorite Jedi baby is back in Din.

What Will be the Plot of Mandalorian Season 3?

There was a sense of finality to the conclusion of season two of The Mandalorian and fans have a lot of questions about what will happen in season three. There was speculation that the post-credits scene involving Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand was meant to establish the beginning of a new story.

In any case, it did but it was The Book of Boba Fett. This isn’t the main Mandalorian arc so much as a side story that runs concurrently with it. Ming-Na Wen said to Digital Spy, “When I was told I was going to become a series regular, I just automatically assumed it was for season three of The Mandalorian.”

The scripts later revealed the episode numbers as 301, 302, 303 and 304. Given that neither of my contracts specifically name The Mandalorian, I naturally assumed that I was agreeing to serve in that capacity. I worked with Tem and Robert Rodriguez for two weeks before realizing we were filming the spin-off.

Mandalorian Season 3

The crew and the cast were devastated when they found out. Seriously, it was out of this world. Yes, it was great to find out that I was filming The Book of Boba Fett [laughs]. It’s kind of like The Mandalorian 2.5. Okay, so I wasn’t completely wrong.

Fans who have read The Book of Boba Fett in its entirety know the deal but in case you haven’t heard the final episodes of Boba Fett establish the story for the upcoming season of The Mandalorian. Boba and Fennec’s discomfort with the idea of being portrayed as heroes as the show came to a close was understandable given their history of brutality.

A melon given to them by a complete stranger provides the answer. Fett tosses it at the head of the Mods’ cyborg street gang, Black Krrsantan and Sophie Thatcher’s Drash. In theory, these people could take over Jabba the Hutt’s old position making way for Boba Fett to return to being a bounty hunter. Certainly a melon-passing if not a torch-passing.
