Who is Modok

Who is Modok? We have our finest look yet at Scott Lang and Hope Pym’s upcoming journey thanks to the new Ant-Man 3 trailer, and we finally know what Kang the Conqueror has in store for the MCU’s tiniest hero.

However, the upcoming Marvel movie trailer has given us our first glimpse of MODOK, everyone’s favorite Marvel villain. However, who is MODOK? He is, after all, a Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. Do you need more than that? Okay, now you know everything there is to know about the superhero movie character with the most significant head.

Here is all the information you need to know about MODOK, the upcoming Marvel villain that will appear in Ant-Man 3 and the MCU.

Who is MODOK in Ant-Man 3?

MODOK, who appears to be Kang the Conqueror’s aide or soldier in Ant-Man 3, resides in the quantum realm. Unfortunately, none of the Ant-Man 3 trailers include much of the MODOK.

MODOK appears behind Scott and Kang for a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment before emerging on the attack while sporting a metal mask based on his iconic comic book appearance.

Does Cory Stoll play MODOK?

Cory Stoll, who portrayed Yellowjacket in the first Ant-Man film, is reportedly playing MODOK. Currently, neither Disney nor it is clear from MODOK’s brief presence in the trailer if such claims are valid.

Who is MODOK in the comics?

In the comic books, MODOK is portrayed as George Tarleton, a lowly technician working for the malicious AIM organization. The scientists at AIM forced Tarleton to become a MODOC (Mental Organism Designed Only for Computing), which gave George extraordinary intelligence.

George was too independent to be controlled, despite AIM’s best efforts to turn him into a living computer. George assumed control of AIM after renaming himself MODOK (Mental Organism Designed For Only for Killing).

The Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, and other members of the Avengers, as well as other superbeings from the Marvel comic universe, regularly found themselves in his way as he attempted to conquer the globe after assuming control.

What are MODOK’s abilities and powers?

MODOK possesses exceptional intelligence in comic books due to the mutagenic experiment he underwent. MODOK is a live supercomputer that can solve even the most challenging problems in nanoseconds.

MODOK’s head has unfortunately grown to an absurd size, and his body has atrophied as a result, even though his cognitive abilities have been improved to superhuman levels. Due to this, he is compelled to go around in a specially made hover chair outfitted with several weapons to defend MODOK’s frail body.

He has been exposed to MODOK as a consequence of numerous tests, and he also possesses some psychic skills, such as telepathy and mind control. For more information, see our guides to the Marvel series and Marvel’s Phase 5.

MCU Character Explained and Fan Theories

As he is lured into the quantum world alongside his daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), partner Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), and her parents Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne, Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), has his work cut out for him in his third standalone movie (Michelle Pfeiffer).

Kang (Jonathan Majors), who Scott encounters there, seems to be offering him a bargain that will be difficult for him to back out of in the trailer. MODOK was shown in a scene with Kang, Scott, and Hope; however, it is uncertain how the character will fit into this narrative.

George Tarleton, who becomes the large-headed villain after undergoing a mutagenic experiment to augment his intelligence, was the original character to take on the title of MODOK when he first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1967.

Who is Modok

After the experiment, Tarleton, an employee of Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M. ), tries to take over the company and murder those responsible for creating him.

However, Marvel fans have a different theory about MODOK’s identity in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania because they think the villain will be identified as Darren Cross, a previous foe of Scott’s.

In the first Ant-Man movie, Darren, who Corey Stoll portrayed, adopted the name Yellowjacket and made an attempt to murder Scott; however, it was thought that he was murdered when he was lethally shrunk down.

Now, some think that this plot served as the character’s training for the role of MODOK in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and that the upcoming movie will expose him. Some fans have even taken to Twitter to voice their theories.

One fan tweeted pictures of Darren in Ant-Man alongside a still of MODOK sans his mask from the trailer, writing, “Welcome back, YELLOWJAC- MODOK!!!!”

Another added: “Not to throw MCU a bone but do kind of like the creative decision that the bad guy from the first Ant-Man got all scrunched up and fused to his suit that the micro people turned him into MODOK. I dunno why not!”

One person also said: The new Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania trailer not only shows MODOK — it also shows him unmasked, and… hello there, Corey Stoll…”

Despite these fan speculations, Marvel hasn’t really confirmed the MODOK actor, and the character’s real identity will likely remain a secret until the movie’s premiere.
