As of next season, there will be 16 teams in the “Big 10” conference. Los Angeles, the largest city on the West Coast is about to lose its two marquee schools from the “Pacific 12.” Just two weeks ago, USC and UCLA, two of California’s most prestigious schools announced their plans to join the Big Ten Conference in 2024.

UCLA AD Martin Jarmond reportedly told the decision was made to operate in a position of strength. What happen when USC and UCLA left pac 12?
The Pac-12 will consist of only ten schools after USC and UCLA leave for the Big Ten. There is a clear advantage to keeping the number of Pac-12 presidents and chancellors at 10. The final sum for the Pac-12’s media rights package will be divided among 10 leaders, rather than 12.
