The Morning Show on Apple TV+ has stunned and awed viewers with its fictitious take on the competitive daytime TV industry since it debuted in 2019. The first season, which included A-listers like Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, captured viewers’ attention immediately. It received an astonishing eight Emmy nominations and one win in 2020.
In September 2021, the second installment of The Morning Show was released, and it once again surpassed expectations. Three more Emmy nominations were given to the program this year as it continued to astound viewers. What is going on with season 3 of The Morning Show?
We have all the details on what a third season of the drama-filled breakfast news program would entail. What is currently known about The Morning Show season 3 is as follows:
When will The Morning Show season 3 be available?
The Morning Show was formally renewed for season 3 in January, meaning that Alex Levy and Bradley Jackson would continue to appear on the show. Although a launch date has not yet been set, it is most probable that season 3 will be made available on Apple TV+ in the fall of 2022.
Season 1 was released in November 2019, while the initial season 2 premiere date was delayed almost a full year due to COVID-19 issues. In September 2021, the second season officially premiered on the streaming service, ending in November.

Who would be on the season 3 cast of The Morning Show?
There aren’t many specifics yet concerning the series’ upcoming installment. It’s a reasonable probability that the cast members listed below will make a cameo appearance.
- Reese Witherspoon ;as Bradley Jackson
- Jennifer Aniston as Alex Levy
- Billy Crudup as Cory Ellison
- Mark Duplass as Chip Black
- Greta Lee as Stella Bak
- Nestor Carbonell as Yanko Flores
- Marcia Gay Harden as Maggie Brener
- Julianna Margulies as Laura Peterson
- Karen Pittman as Mia Jordan
- Desean Terry as Daniel Henderson
- Janina Gavankar as Alison Namazi
- Jon Hamm as Paul Marks
- Tig Notaro as Amanda Robinson
In terms of cast members whose futures are uncertain, several publications assert that Steve Carell’s Mitch character won’t return because of what transpired to him in season 2. Who knows, though; perhaps we’ll see the former anchor in a flashback.
Radio Times speculated that Bel Powley (also known as Claire), who had a minor role in season 2, would also not be around as much. Again, we need to wait for more information to become available before we can be sure.
In addition to welcoming back familiar characters, we will introduce an entirely new cast. The Mad Men actor Jon Hamm will play Paul Marks, “a corporate behemoth who sets his sights on UBA,” according to Deadline. Cory, Alex, and Bradley will all directly interact with his character. Actress Tig Notaro will join the cast as Amanda Robinson, Paul’s chief of staff, and she’ll have to play some interference role for him.
Additionally, according to a September report from Deadline, The Dropout’s Stephen Fry will portray Leonard Cromwell, a UBA board member seeking to rescue the business from financial difficulties. Along with Jennifer and Reese’s characters, actress Nicole Beharie will play a new protagonist. She will take on the role of Christina Hunter, a young anchor on The Morning Show. Despite being grounded, she has a competitive edge that spectators would not expect.
How has the cast reacted to the announcement that more actors would appear on The Morning Show? They’re happy to see them on screen, claims Reese.
“I might have gotten a lot of phone calls from my friends when they announced Jon Hamm,” she said during a FYC event in August. “He is a very complex character. He’s a media mogul and he gives Billy Crudup a run for his money, which I think is the most fun part too, because Billy could eat a scene like I’ve never seen somebody eat a scene, and Hamm gets to come in and give him a great foil.”
What would The Morning Show season 3 be about?
Former showrunner Kerry Ehrin gave some suggestions in November 2021 regarding possible stories that could be investigated in season 3. The executive producer revealed some information, saying she anticipates a time jump in the upcoming episode. She also thinks Alex’s season may be a significant turning moment for him.
“I want to see more of Bradley and Laura,” Kerry explained to the outlet. “I feel like Alex has come to a place for the first time since the pilot of accepting who she is and facing her worst fears, and I want to see how the phoenix rises from the ashes for her and learning how to have a full life and be present and loving.”
Kerry joked that she enjoys concentrating on the Cory-Stella relationship and added that she is “interested” in the future of UBA.
“I think they are a great story about the transition of the old world and the new world, and I think they’re both just such rich characters, and I’m excited to see how they develop.”

Jennifer also spoke about her hopes for season 3 and would love to see her character experience romance. “I think it’s time to see Alex find some love and passion,” she told Variety in June. “She could put the controls down and go into the vulnerability of opening up her heart, which I don’t think she’s ever really done.”
Regarding other elements, she didn’t reveal many details about what fans could expect. But she shed light on a broader theme the entire cast will be embarking on this time. “I can’t say much. It’s a great opportunity to shine a light on very frustrating areas and a fear of where we’re going as a society,” she continued to the outlet. “We try to shed some light on it and comment slightly. It’s a deep well at this point.”
Last but not least, Kerry hinted that there’s a chance that Paola Lambruschini’s (Valerina Golino) footage of Mitch before his death will turn up later on. This is a major spoiler if you haven’t seen season 2.
These plots, however, are not fixed in stone. In January this year that Charlotte Stoudt will succeed Kerry, who had served in that capacity for seasons 1 and 2. For season 3, Kerry will continue to serve as a consultant.
Did The Morning Show begin filming season 3?

“We are backkkkkkkk! 🎬 ✨,” she wrote at the time. “@TheMorningShow Season 3!”
