At the time this was written, East Los Angeles College (ELAC) welcomed back Justin Gladely, DC Calip, Shemar Marrow, Brandon Wilson, and DJ Gilmore to continue their efforts as Husky athletes. We’re thrilled to hear that several of ELAC’s players have decided to leave the conference.
Josh Philips
Playing football for Grambling State University is Josh Phillips, who discussed his life with autism openly and honestly on the show. “I’ve always been judged negatively because of my autism,” he stated. The problem is that it has always been an additional challenge.
In spite of much skepticism, Josh was ultimately proven to be a formidable opponent.
Dezmond Washington
Dezmond Washington is well-known for always prioritizing Princeton Washington, his son, in his own life. He is a junior this year with the Crookston Golden Eagles of the University of Minnesota Crookston. I’m crossing my fingers for a scholarship. “I have to do something for my son,” Dezmond remarked on the show. He seems to be making good progress.
Damani Whitlock
Damani Whitlock, the point guard for ELAC, is a multi-talented athlete who also performs admirably in other sports. Damani now plays football for the Texarkana Eagles at Texas A&M University–Texarkana, where he is also pursuing a degree in civil engineering.
Bryan Penn Johnson comes in dead last. The 7-foot-1 center has committed to play for the Cal Poly Mustangs. As if that weren’t enough, he also received a full scholarship and a private dorm room.
John Mosley
The ELAC Huskies are ready to enter their 11th season under Coach Mosley’s leadership, and he shows no signs of slowing down. His commitment and enthusiasm for the club are unmatched, so it’s a positive thing. He was a Husky player himself before he coached the team to nine consecutive appearances in the CCCAA State Playoffs.
After graduating from Washington Prep, Coach Mosley went on to play “two years as team captain and starting point guard” for ELAC’s basketball team. During his time there, he established an imprint on the team that would follow him into his coaching career.
“Mosley led the state of California in assists (11.1), won two All-Conference awards, and was named to the All-State honorable mention team.” Now that he’s back, leading them, in a lot of ways, Season 3 should be exciting.

Rob Robinson
In the wake of the 2021–2022 academic year, Robert “Rob” Robinson, the Huskies’ assistant coach, departed ELAC. He is currently the MiraCosta Community College men’s basketball team’s head coach. Oceanside, California is home to the institute. The MiraCosta Spartans’ coach is dedicated to leading his team to success on the collegiate level in California.

Only one of the five games the Spartans played from November 18, 2022, to December 9, 2022, ended in a loss, therefore Rob must have done a good job. Rob and his wife Krysten have three wonderful children together: KJ, Meda, and Justus. There are two dogs that the couple regularly takes for walks.
