Is Tiny Pretty Things Season 2 Canceled by Netflix?

Tiny Pretty Things Season 2

Tiny Pretty Things Season 2

You will read details about Tiny Pretty Things Season 2 here.  When it first aired in December 2020, Tiny Pretty Things an adolescent ballet drama based on a book series by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton was a must-watch soapy binge for fans of young adult literature and dancers.

The first season is set in the fictional Archer School of Ballet in Chicago and it opens with the school recovering from a terrible catastrophe. Ballerina Cassie jumped from the roof, much to the delight of her fans and the dismay of her fellow dancers. Whether her fall from grace was the result of an accident or a deliberate push is moot; whoever takes her place will likely face strong competition.

Await the arrival of Neveah to the institution. She is a fresh and promising ballet dancer, and she is catching attention much to the dismay and ire of girls like Bette, who believe they should be the prima ballerina at Archer.

Season 1 of Tiny Pretty Things was compelling viewing for fans of messy scandalous teen drama clichés who also enjoy a dash of suspenseful intrigue. It’s what’s kept the program fresh in viewers’ minds despite the considerable time that’s passed since the end of season one and the possibility of a second.

There has however been recent information on the future of the Netflix original. The renewal of the program is no longer up in the air relieving fans’ concerns. This is what we know!

Are new episodes still being made of Tiny Pretty Things or has the show been axed?

A YouTube video uploaded by Brennan Clost, who portrayed Shane on the show, suggests that Netflix quietly canceled Tiny Pretty Things.

Does Tiny Pretty Things Season 2 seem likely?

To my knowledge, Clost does not mention trying to shop around the second season of Tiny Pretty Things in the video. This is probably because the show was canceled soon after its debut.

Here’s what Clost had to say about why neither Netflix nor any of the actors or producers said anything when the cancellation was announced:

Netflix told us they were not going to announce it because the way that Netflix content works is that it is evergreen on their platform. It will stay up forever on Netflix.

They didn’t want to take away from the discoverability….If people know that a show isn’t coming back for a second season, more often than not they’re going to choose not to watch it. They don’t want to get attached.

That’s also sort of the same reason why as a cast–we discussed it with our producers, our showrunner, with each other–we decided to keep it quiet that the show wasn’t coming back.

Tiny Pretty Things Season 2 Renewal Status on Netflix

The premiere of Tiny Pretty Things Season 1 was scheduled for December 14, 2020, but Netflix has provided very little information on the show in the 10 months since then.

Given that Tiny Pretty Things dethroned Queen’s Gambit in international ratings, the decision not to renew it comes as a surprise. Tiny Pretty Things dominated for a total of eight days until being dethroned by Bridgerton.

Tiny Pretty Things seems to be an outlier, as most top-rated shows are renewed at some point.

Is Netflix’s renewal in jeopardy because of Tiny Pretty Things?

All of the dancing in the series is done by the actual actors, rather than by stunt doubles like in many other productions. Production on the first season took place over the span of three months, from August 6th, 2019, to December 3rd, 2019, despite the substantial choreography involved.

Do you think the plot could be continued into a Tiny Pretty Little Things Season 2?

Tiny Pretty Things Season 2 Plot

There was a significant unanswered question left at the end of the season that will have to be addressed in the next installment. By the season’s end the consequences of the lethal love triangle between Cassie, Delia, and Ramon were enormous.

In the aftermath of Cassie’s recovery from a coma, she told everyone that Delia was the one who pushed her, leading to the tragic catastrophe. When Delia found out that Cassie and Ramon were having an affair, she reacted with envy and anger and attempted to eliminate Cassie from the equation.

But Delia got away with the murder by blaming her sister Bette, and their mother permitted it to happen even though she knew about Delia’s wrongdoing all along. Ramon was stabbed in the last minutes of the first season and the knife was left in his chest as he lay dying on the floor.

Do you know if Tiny Pretty Things has a follow-up novel?

There is a sequel to the novel from which the film Tiny Pretty Things was adapted, named Shiny Broken Pieces.  There is enough material for a second season given that there is another book to adapt.

For the time being, any talk of a release date is just that—talk. It’s not impossible, but it’s exceedingly doubtful, that the show will appear on Netflix anytime soon without an official statement from Netflix and without anyone knowing that filming has begun.

If Tiny Pretty Things ever makes its way back to Netflix, it likely won’t be before late 2022 or early 2023 at this rate.
