After he gets away, Thanos tells Gamora to watch out for Warlock. However, after meeting Drax the Destroyer, Gamora begins to doubt her adoptive father’s sincerity.

However, she would momentarily leave the group to go to Earth to help the Avengers. Thanos their biological stepfather was the enemy. Once she vanquished the behemoth, her dreams would be visited by her younger self.

When asked why she felt a piece of her soul had lingered in the soul world after her spirit was absorbed by the soul gem, she would tell him. Consequently, she begs Quill to give her the power gem so she can utilize the soul gem to restore her soul’s health, but he refuses.
