During operations in Nottingham police discovered drugs with a street value of £2.5 million. Two residences were found to contain “significant” quantities of both class A and class B narcotics.
Nearly 1,500 cannabis plants were discovered by police at a commercial building on Lortas Road in New Basford. On November 18, a warrant was carried out at the residence by members of City Centre Operation Reacher.
The cannabis dismantles squad from the Nottinghamshire Police Department removed and destroyed the drugs after they were discovered. The police have stated that an investigation is underway to determine who was responsible for the setup.

At 8 o’clock on the morning of November 22nd, the second burglary occurred at a Hockley apartment on Cranbrook Street. Police found drug paraphernalia, including a machete and scales, along with 0.5 kilogrammes of cocaine, 0.5 kilogrammes of cannabis, and a substantial number of suspected stolen property.
Due to the unsafe conditions, authorities removed two young children from the apartment and arrested two adults who were also present. A 47-year-old male was among those detained on suspicion of conspiring to supply a class A narcotic, possessing a class B substance, cruelly treating a minor and dealing in stolen items. He was later bailed with restrictions.
The arrest of a 25-year-old woman on similar charges led to her release pending further investigation. Police in Nottinghamshire estimated the street worth of the drugs they found to be at $3.5 million.
As part of its proactive policing concept Operation Reacher has assigned sergeant-led teams of seven officers to all 12 of Nottinghamshire’s neighbourhood policing zones.

The leader of the City Center Reacher Squad Sergeant Louise Ellis remarked, “This was a particularly successful week for the team and will no doubt cause a major inconvenience for local criminals and drug dealers.” Using the information at hand, the authorities took decisive action that led to the seizure of a considerable quantity of drugs and illicit property, effectively cutting off the criminals’ source of income.
