The trailer begins by introducing the day in question. Everything about the hike and the day itself was ideal. It was possible that everything would go horribly wrong and when the volcano erupted, chaos ensued. Tourists in boats and on the island are seen fleeing the eruption as ash falls on camera but as evidenced by the scars the survivors still bear it was nearly impossible to get away unscathed.
People who were there that day said the island had an unearthly heat and they thought they wouldn’t make it. Despite police and other outsiders being forbidden from entering the island many rescuers went out to try to save as many people as they could. The footage shows how the islanders banded together to save many lives that would have otherwise been lost.
