Hugh Jackman and his wife Reportedly are considering a return to Australia

It seems like Hugh Jackman and his wife have had enough of the late nights in the “city that never sleeps” and are ready to head back home. Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness moved out of their New York City triplex penthouse apartment and into a smaller Chelsea flat last week.

Woman’s Day reports that the relocation posed “an unforeseen stress” on the family, cementing the couple’s resolve to return to Australia. “Almost everything that didn’t go to the smaller flat is being sent to Oz,” an insider reveals. But the couple has a dilemma: their children are “American.”

While the thought of migrating to Australia was intriguing during the outset of the pandemic, the children have recently learned to appreciate the benefits of living in the heart of New York City once more. Jackman has a son, Oscar, 22 and a daughter, Ava, 17, both of whom are in their final years of high school and university, respectively. According to our reliable source, “everything they know and love is based in New York,” including their friends, their studies, their hobbies, and their favourite places to hang out.

The reality that Chelsea is just a stepping stone to Australia will have been driven home to them by the sight of boxes marked with an Australian destination. Jackman has never been shy about sharing his feelings of homesickness with his devoted fan base. The star of “The Greatest Showman” uploaded videos of himself putting together a jigsaw puzzle of the Sydney Opera House during the 2020 lockdown.

I long for the comfort of you again! Sydney, you are sorely missed. This is the part I miss the most. I can’t take it anymore. I’ve got a hole in my heart,” he sobbed on camera. Like Jackman, famed Crocodile Dundee actor Paul Hogan recently admitted he had “been homesick for years” and wants to return to Australia.

Hogan, now 83 years old, and his ex-wife emigrated to the United States in the 1990s and have been settled there ever since. Iconic Australian musician said he longs to return to Australia because he misses the country’s “ambience” and “laid-back” vibe.

I’ve been homesick for years,” he told. There’s something about Australia that’s kinder and more laid-back, and I miss the people and the atmosphere there. Hogan continued by saying that his son Chance is what has kept him in the United States, but that he is looking forward to returning home soon.
