The Masked Singer Season 8 Production
On May 16, 2022, before the season seven finale aired on May 18, 2022, Fox announced that they had renewed the show for season eight. The premiere date of the upcoming season, September 21st, was confirmed on June 6, 2022.
This season’s format features a three-on-three showdown each week, with one contender being ousted mid-show and escorted to the VIP area while the remaining two battle it out. At the end of each show, one contestant is crowned king or queen and advances to the next round, while the other loses and is eliminated. Vegas Night, Hall of Fame Night, Muppets Night, Andrew Lloyd Webber Night, TV Theme Night, ’90s Night, Thanksgiving Night and Fright Night are just some of the new themed nights this season.
As a result of the MLB postseason, many episodes had to be moved to different timeslots during the season. On October 12, a rain delay occurred in the second game of the National League Division Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves, forcing a restart of the game in the middle of the night in Eastern Standard Time.
