Although Makoto Yukimura has developed other manga, such as Planetes, none have been as successful as his Norse tale, Vinland Saga, which he also wrote and illustrated.

Since its debut, the manga has seen monthly publication, and its chapters have been collected into 26 volumes so far. There are almost 5.5 million books in print, therefore it’s reasonable to expect a clamor for a Vinland Saga: Season 2.

Season 1 of Vinland Saga premiered in 2019, and it featured 24 visually delicious episodes, which is to be expected from the studio that brought you Attack on Titan. Season 1 of Vinland Saga adapted the whole War Arc of the manga, from Thorfinn’s traumatic youth through Askeladd’s unexpected death, therefore Season 2 will likely do the same for the Slave Arc.
