The Boys Season 4 Release Date, Story Line, and More

The Boys Season 4

We’re already missing the devilish entertainment that was The Boys Season 3. While we wait for the next episode, we can catch up on all the news about our favorite supes (and some new ones!) on Amazon Prime Video.

Developed by Eric Kripke and based on the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, the show follows a gang of primarily regular humans (a.k.a. The Boys) as they strive to expose the corruption and misdeeds of a megacorporation named Vought — and the superheroes it employs.

Season 3 concluded with a flurry of activity. The Seven only has three superheroes surviving — Homelander (Antony Starr), the Deep (Chace Crawford), and A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), and Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) only has a few months left to live after taking too many doses of Temp V.

While Ryan (Cameron Crovetti) has generally been a nice kid up until this point, the season 3 finale of The Boys revealed a disturbing side to him. After witnessing his father commit a street murder, a smirk appeared on Ryan’s face. Yikes!

The fourth season of The Boys will feature Ryan prominently. Beyond that, however, we don’t know too lot about the sequel. The following is the most up-to-date information regarding Season 4 of The Boys.

The Boys Season 4 Plot

Season 4 of The Boys has not been officially confirmed, but we have a pretty decent sense of what will happen based on the season 3 conclusion. The Boys have reunited, and they’re more committed than ever to their mission to bring down the Supes.

Their primary adversary, Victoria Neuman, appears to have changed. Due to her arrangement with Homelander, her opponent was drowned by The Deep, securing her nomination for Vice President in the series finale. This makes her a strong contender to become the most influential Supe of all time, at least politically.

Starlight, though, will provide some assistance this time around. She initially tried to make changes from the inside, but now she’s a committed member of team Butcher.

Also, following Temp V, he may need all the support he can get to recover and go on with his life. As the medication continues to have devastating effects on his health, Billy will be in grave danger in the upcoming season.

The Boys Season 4 Release Date

Even though a premiere date for Season 4 of The Boys has not been set, production on the next season has already begun. On August 22nd, showrunner Eric Kripke posted a photo to Instagram with the caption “Day One” with what appears to be the script for Episode 401, “Department of Dirty Tricks.”

Members of the cast also posted about the upcoming season on social media. Hughie actor Jack Quaid stated, “Today we start work on season 4” on Twitter. It was taken on the very first day when the whole season one cast of The Boys reported to work together on set.

The Boys Season 4 Cast

The Boys revealed two new cast members on Aug. 1. Season 4 features Susan Heyward as Sister Sage and Valorie Curry as Firecracker. Both of these characters are superheroes. “These new Supes are some of the best & strongest ever written for #TheBoys,” Kripke remarked of the announcement.

“They will win your heart over. And by love, I mean utter horror and a slight feeling of nausea.” Crovetti, who plays Ryan, was also promoted by Amazon to series regular.

On Oct. 10, The Boys published first-look photographs of Heyward’s Sage and Curry’s Firecracker. Wait until you see @susanheyward & @valoriecurry in action,” Kripke added in a retweet. Dangerous, funny, and horrifying all at the same time.

On Aug. 25, Deadline reported that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will join the cast of The Boys as a recurrent guest star. Amazon has been mum about who Morgan will play. Actor Morgan has previously worked with Kripke on the CW’s Supernatural, in which he played the lead role of John Winchester. “Can’t tell you how delighted I am! For figuring out a way to accommodate both schedules, a huge shout-you to @therealKripke, @AMCPlus, and @TheBoysTV! “Morgan tweeted shortly after the news broke, mentioning his own in-development show The Walking Dead: Dead City. “No easy task. I am beyond stoked!”

Antony Starr, Chace Crawford, Jessie T. Usher, Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Tomer Kapon, Karen Fukuhara, Laz Alonso, Claudia Doumit, and Colby Minifie are all set to return.
