McDaniels Accepts Blame for Saints Loss

The 24-0 road loss to the New Orleans Saints that the Las Vegas Raiders suffered on Sunday was a big setback for the team. Even after a week of practice, it’s hard to figure out what went wrong in that loss.

However, the current finger of blame is pointed at Josh McDaniels the head coach of the Raiders.

After the game, McDaniels admitted, “Obviously that wasn’t good enough in any way, shape, or form.” It’s on me to make sure we’re set to leave, so I need to improve my preparation skills significantly. We’re not that kind of people.

Again I take full responsibility for that poor showing and I sincerely apologize to Raider Nation. To be honest, that falls in my purview. Obviously, we need to improve greatly in every facet of the game if we want to compete with a squad like that which is well-coached and boasts talented players. Clearly, they were more prepared and did a better job than us.

It all begins with me, then. Also, we’re going to put in a lot of effort and have this problem solved. McDaniels has acknowledged that he and his staff will have to investigate what went wrong.

The team has “performed and competed much better than this,” McDaniels said. “When you play a game like this backward on the road against a talented club in a hostile environment, it makes things difficult for yourself.

We’ve coached better than this. As so, we didn’t have a good beginning, and then we did. To their credit, too. Dennis [Allen] led his team to a tremendous performance tonight and I know I can go better.”
