94.1 WIP host Angelo Cataldi is going to retire after a long journey with the station, as he is aged now. But is the perfect replacement in his place. His replacement is declared by himself on Thursday morning. Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie are now coming to host the morning show as they now hosting WIP’s middy show. As they join in 2023, Cataldi’s co-host remains there with a new morning show.
“We are going to assemble, I think, what’s going to be a remarkable team,” DeCamara said. “I’ve got very lofty expectations.” DeCamara is an experienced host for more than 22 years in Philadelphia and also worked with ESPN radio.
“I am ecstatic for the opportunity to host mornings on WIP,” DeCamara said. “There is a remarkable tradition of success long established by the legend, Angelo, and the entire current morning team, and my aim is to continue to uphold that level of excellence … And I look forward to multiple parades down Broad Street over the next four months!”
Another host Ritchie from Pennsylvania, football played at least seven seasons for the NFL team Oakland Raiders and Philadephia Eagles. After retiring Jon appeared on screen in tv shows at ESPN, DirectTV, and NBC Sports Network.
“I’m grateful and honored that Joe and I have the opportunity to follow in Angelo Cataldi’s footsteps on WIP’s morning show,” Ritchie said. “We’ll work hard to uphold the station’s tradition of emotional connection with the greatest sports fans in the world.”
One more change you can see here is James Seltzer, who is the producer of the middy show now producing the morning show. As its previous producer will remain there with co-host Rhea Hughes. Another co-host Al Morganti continuously worked as he did. “They got an all-star team,” Cataldi said. “They got some real power here.”
“For the last three decades Angelo Cataldi set the standard for morning drive in Philadelphia and helped define the sports narrative of this great city,” said Rod Lakin. “Joe and Jon, along with Rhea Hughes and the other talented members of the WIP Morning Show, will adhere to the standard that Angelo created and develop a connection with the Philadelphia sports audience for years to come.”
Although Cataldi is connecting with the show since 1989, and now he is 71, now wanted to take a rest. He announced his retirement plan, he signed a contract till 2021, but extend one year for his colleagues.

In 2019, Cataldi said he will host the show till WIP another host Marc Farzetta hosted 97.5 The Fanatic. In these 33 years, Cataldi did so effort to rank the show at the top with sports talk. Because before joining WIP he was a sports reporter for the Eagles. He also achieved Pulitzer Prize and in 2012, the Philadelphia Hall of Fame.
