Hallie Jackson, the daughter of Heidi and David Jackson, entered the world on April 29, 1984, in Yardley, Pennsylvania. She completed Pennsbury High’s program and graduated in 2002. Jackson received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University with honors in 2006 and he was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa society there.

She began her career in journalism in 2006 with WBOC-TV in Salisbury, Maryland and Dover, Delaware, where she stayed until she moved to WFSB in Hartford and New Haven in 2008. Her professional path brought her to Hearst Corporation in 2012, where she covered the District of Columbia for 26 of their stations.
Jackson joined NBC News as a reporter and journalist in 2014, and in that capacity, she served as an embedded reporter during Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign. The late summer of 2016 saw Jackson take over the anchor chair for MSNBC Live, NBC News’ daytime coverage platform, at 1 p.m. ET.
NBC announced in January 2017 that Jackson would be taking over as the network’s primary White House correspondent and hosting the 10:00 a.m. edition of MSNBC. Jackson’s new MSNBC Live time slot begins at 3 p.m. on September 20, 2021. Hallie Jackson NOW, which Jackson hosts on NBC News‘ streaming channel NBC News Now from Monday through Friday at 5 p.m. ET, premiered on November 17, 2021.

On May 27, 2020, Jackson was invited to and spoke at the commencement ceremony for her alma mater, Johns Hopkins University. Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit and a commencement speaker, Michael Bloomberg, philanthropist and former mayor of New York City, Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a leading member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force and senior class president Pavan Patel also spoke at the virtual ceremony.

In a tweet on Saturday, Jackson initially hinted at her “very special surprise,” telling her followers to check in on Sunday to hear the big news.
Jackson is prepared to take on the role of motherhood in her life. After all, she has years of practice selecting the healthiest and tastiest foods for infants. Jackson admitted in an interview last year that she travels with pouches of pureed baby food to ensure she gets all the nutrition she needs. Spinach, apples, and kale are her preferred ingredients.
When asked if she had any issues with the TSA, Jackson said, “I don’t have any trouble with them, whatever many ounces they are, although I do get funny stares because I don’t have a baby.” As one TSA employee pointed out, “But you don’t have a kid with you.” After confirming my suspicions, I responded, “I know, they’re for me.”
