He is best known for his roles as Cowboy in both the Broadway production of The Boys in the Band and the upcoming 2020 film adaptation of the same name, as well as for his portrayal of Porter Scavo on the ABC series Desperate Housewives and as Ethan on the MTV series Teen Wolf. Charlie Carver Early Life

Carver entered the world on July 31, 1988, in San Francisco, California. On August 1, seven minutes later, his twin brother Max was born. He was formerly known as Charlie Martensen until he decided to pursue acting as a career. His mother, Anne Carver (born in 1952), is a philanthropist and community organizer, while his father Robert Martensen was a physician, historian and novelist.

Following their marriage in 1992, Anne and Denis Sutro relocated their family to Calistoga, Napa Valley. Before transferring to Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan during his sophomore year, Carver attended St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire.

After four years at USC, he earned his diploma in 2012. Also, he attended San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater to hone his acting chops. In 2016, he made an Instagram announcement revealing his s*xual orientation as gay.

Desperate Housewives on ABC was his first film role, co-starring with his brother as Porter and Preston Scavo, the sons of Lynette and Tom Scavo. Is Charli Carver Gay?

For the first time, Charlie Carver has spoken publicly about his s*xual orientation. The ‘Leftovers’ star broke up a lengthy Instagram post about his s*xuality into five parts with a graphic of the motivational statement “Be Who You Needed When You Were Younger.”

The actor, now 27, reflected on how he stood out from the crowd in his formative years.

“Even as a little lad, I knew I wanted to be an actress,” he penned. I had a long list of aspirations… Around the same time, I had a vague sense that I wasn’t like the other boys my age.

As the author puts it, “this abstract ‘knowing’ expanded and articulated itself over time, accompanied by terrible feelings of hopelessness and isolation, culminating in the utterance of three words out loud: “I am gay.”

At Comic-Con, the cast of MTV’s “Teen Wolf” shows off their talents to adoring fans.

Teen Wolf’s actor felt safe coming out to his loved ones but had challenges in his professional life after doing so.

He explained: ”I did not want to be defined by my s*xuality.

”Sure, I am a proud gay man, but I don’t identify as a Gay man, or a GAY man, or just gay”.

I identify as a lot of things, these various identifications and identities taking up equal space and making up an ever-fluid sense of Self….

“As an actor, I felt it was my duty to treat each role as if it were a blank canvas, a chameleon, the next character. It was my responsibility to always be seen as a viable option by casting directors, film producers, and the general public”.

If I came out, I worried, people would categorize me in ways I wasn’t comfortable with professionally.

Charlie, on the other hand, is “eager” to finally be himself and aid others in doing the same.

So now, let the record show this — I self-identify as gay,” he said. More than anyone, I owe it to my younger self to provide for her in the ways she needed. And just to set the record straight, my straight twin brother is just as cool as I am.
