There has been a lot of talk about Draymond Green potentially joining the Los Angeles Lakers. Stephen A. Smith was the first to draw parallels and now NBA officials are following suit.
One NBA official is predicting that Draymond Green will sign with the Lakers in free agency according to a report by Sean Deveney.
The executive told Sean Deveney of Heavy.com, “Things would have to become extremely ugly for the Warriors before they would dump Draymond.” But, you don’t know because you don’t know the dynamics happening in that locker room.
In that case, a trade might be on the horizon if Steph Curry and Klay Thompson have had enough of playing with him. However they are aware of his significance. The Lakers have nothing of value to offer the Warriors in exchange for a trade.

The executive is skeptical that the Lakers have anything of value to offer the Warriors in exchange for Draymond even if a deal were to be proposed.
“You’d have to build it around, what, Patrick Beverley and Lonnie Walker,” the executive said. “Or Kendrick Nunn? So, the only thing the Lakers could offer Golden State that might be worth it is the two picks they have – send out all those guys plus the picks in 2027 and 2029. They (Los Angeles) like Draymond, LeBron wants Draymond and Draymond has been following LeBron around like a puppy dog these last couple of years. But I can’t see them giving up those two picks for him, not at his age and not with him being a free agent next summer anyway.”
Draymond Green is most likely to exercise his player option and return to the Warriors, as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski. The speculation around his future with the Lakers will likely intensify once that occurs.
