In Zellweger’s episode, Anstead and his co-star Cristy Lee helped her buy new cars for her caretakers, twin brothers Jerome and Jerald. After Zellweger’s friend and former publicist Nanci Ryder were diagnosed with ALS in 2014, the two took care of her until she died in 2020.

PEOPLE confirmed that Anstead and Zellweger were dating a few days after his divorce from Christina Haack was finalized. People heard from a source that the two got along well right away and have a lot in common.
“Sometimes when two people meet, they just get along, and it’s the right time,” the insider said. “Renée is creative, and she often dates guys who aren’t afraid to think outside the box. She is smart, kind, and always trying to learn more and help the people around her.”
