The Emmy-winning series Succession Season 4 premieres as tensions at Waystar Royco continue to grow. Fans of the popular HBO series are eagerly awaiting the next episode as Logan and his eldest son Kendall (Strong) spar over their divergent views on business leadership and media in the 21st century. What, if anything, does the future hold for the family we love to detest because they are so obnoxious and obscenely wealthy?
The official logline for Season 4 says, “The sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech genius Lukas Matsson gets ever closer,” but plot specifics are, of course, being kept under wraps.
As the Roy family tries to imagine what their life would be like after this monumental sale is finalized, they are overcome with existential turmoil and rifts within the family. A fight for control develops as the family considers a future in which their influence in society and politics will be significantly diminished.

Skarsgard Alexander Takes the Roys to Norway
A number of the series’ previous guest performers, including Alexander Skarsgard, Dagmara Domiczyk, Arian Moayed, Juliana Canfield, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Justin Kirk, Stephen Root, Hope Davis, and Cherry Jones, will be back for Season 4 as well, according to HBO.
The film crew traveled to Norway so that they could film Skarsgrd’s tech tycoon character, Lukas Matsson, wooing the Roy family in their own environment.
Scott Ferguson, the show’s producer, recently told Variety that writer Jesse Armstrong “always had in mind” that the tech company’s top position go to someone from the Nordic region. “Around the beginning of February, Jesse had an idea for an episode they wanted to be in [Matsson’s] corner of the universe,” the writer’s room explained.
Jeremy Strong Kept His “Distance” From Brian Cox, as Revealed by Adrian Brody
One of the guest stars, Adrien Brody, has observed that Jeremy Strong “keeps his distance” from co-star Brian Cox on set.
Brody commented on Strong’s Method acting style, saying, “I did see that he was keeping his distance from Brian on set, but I simply thought it was all extremely interesting.” “I don’t think Brian gives a hoot, but it was plainly working for Jeremy. When I first stepped into it, I remember thinking, “Wow, this is so much fun.”
As a result, everything went off without a hitch. Basically, I was hoping for an expansion. Our conversations were among my favorites. That, then, was the way it worked in my hands. The work was fantastic, in my opinion. And whatever they’re doing on that show is obviously working, so why not keep doing it?

Succession According to Brian Cox Will Not be a “Drag”
The series won the award for Outstanding Drama Series at the 2022 Emmys, but actor Brian Cox said the show’s future on HBO is in doubt.
“I don’t know [if there will be a fifth season]. No one’s had their contracts renewed,” Cox told The Times. “Who knows how long it will go on?”
Cox called out fellow finance drama series, Showtime’s “Billions,” for seeming to drag on.
“We don’t want it to overstay its welcome, like ‘Billions,’” Cox dished. “That’s past its sell-by date. That will not happen with our show.”

Season 5 Will Likely Be “Succession’s” Finale
Georgia Pritchett, the show’s creator and executive producer, told The Times in 2021 that the “maximum would be five seasons” for the show, but that it could end after Season 4.
Production on Season 3 is wrapped, and Pritchett has confirmed that “just one more” season will be filmed. But that’s always the case. There’s a promising conclusion in sight for us.

With an embarrassing proposal in Season 3, production on Season 4 of “Succession” began in June 2022, and set photographs show Connor Roy (Alan Ruck) and long-term lover Willa (Justine Lupe) getting married.
