Ziegler was born to mortgage business owners Kurt Ziegler and Melissa Ziegler-Gisoni in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She traces her ancestry back to Poland, Germany, and Italy. When she was six years old, her parents split up, and her mother later married Greg Gisoni. Ziegler joined the Abby Lee Dance Company when she was four years old and trained in tap, ballet, lyrical, modern, acro, jazz, and aerial dance.
