Copper Topp, a former contestant on Drag Race UK Season 4, has spoken out against the “very, very harsh” criticism she received from the show’s judges.
Copper Topp, following Just May and Starlet, was this week’s third drag queen to be booted from season four of Drag Race UK. Talking to Digital Spy after her elimination, drag queen Copper Topp discussed the feedback she received from RuPaul and the other judges, Michelle Visage and Alan Carr.
“I would say to them: is there nothing about my drag that you enjoyed? I thought they were very, very harsh on the runway. Very, very harsh. But, you know, it is what it is. It was gorgeous to be there. They look beautiful in real life. Bloody hell. Honestly, it’s amazing.”

But, she went on, “I would have wanted to have stayed, because acting and comedy is what I do, and when I don’t get to do those tasks, it’s like, ‘Ugh.’ But – oh well, oh well.”
Copper Topp mentioned that she thought the reaction she got to her episode one runway was particularly negative.

“The thing is, it was like: ‘Ru are you? And tell us that story.’ I know that Rosé did it during the US season, and a few other people have kind of done the text on their costumes. I know it’s not to everyone’s taste, of course. It is orange, and it’s very arresting. That’s what I wanted it to be.”
A continuation from Copper Topp “In this post, I’ll explain how Copper Topp came to be. That’s right, that’s why. It was created by the amazing Marmalade, who also created my neon look and whom I adore. However, I think it’s a testament to how amazing she is that I even think about her.”
