Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which builds upon the universe of Night City introduced in the action role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077, is largely considered to be among the greatest anime series of 2022. Fans of the video game are eager for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 after watching the anime, which joins the ranks of other successful Netflix video game adaptations like Tekken: Bloodline and The Cuphead Show.

Cyberpunk: Season 2 of Edgerunners: The Definitive Knowledge Guide
In light of the events of the series finale, in which the destinies of numerous characters were chosen, it is feasible that one of the remaining characters will be elevated to leadership. It’s also feasible that a different historical figure from the same era as David Martinez will take center stage in Season 2.
As an alternative, Season 2 might focus on Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand from the Cyberpunk 2077 video game and his backstory. Given the character’s role in the action RPG’s impending Phantom Liberty expansion, this could be a good path for the story to go, helping to close the gap between the two mediums.
However, this is not the end of the Edgerunners’ saga, as future spin-off projects from Studio Trigger and CD Project RED will allow both the characters and the setting of Night City to grow.

Can We Expect the Second Season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Following the Release of the Sequel Cyberpunk 2077?
Project Orion, the successor to Cyberpunk 2077, was announced by developer CD Projekt Red in early October 2022. A developer has revealed some details about the sequel, saying, “Orion is a codename for our next Cyberpunk game, which will push the Cyberpunk franchise farther and continue harnessing the promise of this dark future environment.”
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners fans are now curious as to whether or not CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger will work together to produce a second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners or another anime based in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe that takes place in Night City.
The confirmation of Cyberpunk 2077 raises the possibility of a future anime series based on the popular property, while CDPR has made no announcements in this regard. A new season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is not likely until at least 2025 when the sequel video game is scheduled for release.
