Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has spoken openly about his struggles to come to terms with his sexuality as a child including the time he thought he was gay because of his strong identification with women.
Ed Sheeran said that he “thought for a bit” that he was gay because of his affinity for musicals and Britney Spears. In an interview with the Dutch podcast Man, Man, Man, he said “I have a definite feminine side, to the point that when I was a kid I thought I was gay for a bit.
In a very real sense, I am very feminine. The musical theater, the pop music and especially Britney Spears are all things I enjoy greatly. To that, he elaborated, “I am not a hugely masculine person anyway.” As for me, I’ve never been into cars. A nice car is cool, but I’m not really a car guy.
That Ed and Lyra, his one-year-old daughter, have tested positive for Covid-19 follows his earlier revelation that they both have the virus this week. Both Lyra and Ed’s mother, Cherry Seaborn tested negative for the virus, so the couple must now stay in isolation for 10 days away from Cherry.
Ed, who hails from Suffolk, England, informed his followers on Instagram that he planned to continue promoting his upcoming album, from the comfort of his own home when it was released on October 29. He announced his positive Covid test result in an Instagram post: “I’m now self-isolating and following government guidelines.”
