Dexter: New Blood Season 2 Update Is Underwhelming

Michael C. Hall’s Bay Harbour Butcher may have frozen to death in the snow, but there’s still hope for Dexter: New Blood Season 2 if the network can get its act together.

When asked by TVLine about the possibility of a second season, Gary Levine, president of Showtime Networks, insisted: “This is too early of a stage to make any definitive statements.

“We’re still basking in the glow of the limited series, which was everything we hoped for.”

After last year’s stunning, yet divisive New Blood finale, the next iteration of the Dexter universe would have to center on Harrison (Jack Alcott), the son of serial killer Dexter Morgan.

Clyde Phillips, the show’s creator and executive producer, previously said “The fate of the situation rests entirely with Showtime. In the event that they were to call me and say, “We want to do Harrison,” I would be interested. Please figure it out; we trust you.

“I’m pretty busy, but I would drop everything I’m doing and jump right into it. I would love to do it, but it’s really up to Showtime.”

Recently, David Nevins of Paramount Global gave fans a more optimistic assessment of the franchise’s future.
