Two of the thirty or so competitors on Love Is Blind Season 2 were named Deepti Vempati and Kyle Abrams. The first episode of Love Is Blind debuted on Netflix in February of 2020, and it follows 30 single men and women as they speed date in “Pods” where they may communicate with one another but cannot see each other.
The couples have 10 days to determine whether or not they want to get engaged without ever actually meeting each other. The couples finally get to meet each other in person after the proposal, and they all go on vacation together in a Mexican resort, where they get to know one another and the other couples better.
Following their romantic getaway, the engaged couples from the same city will move in together to get to know each other’s families and friends before the big day. These couples, on the eve of their weddings, must settle the age-old question of whether or not love is truly blind by deciding whether or not to marry.
With over 30 million total views in only the first two months after its release, Love Is Blind has quickly risen to the ranks of Netflix’s most popular original programs.

“Today, there are so many different methods to meet potential partners, from online dating sites to matchmaking services. Perversely, these factors have increased people’s sense that they are expendable. They have given the impression that nothing goes deeper than the surface. Also, Coelen mentioned to Variety that the relationships in Love Is Blind were so powerful because they were based on free will. “It was quite terrifying because I didn’t have to do anything to get married to a stranger, as opposed to the show we do call Married at First Sight, where you sign up and know that you’re getting married to a stranger. Nobody was required to accomplish anything while they were here. It was contingent on who you find and who you pick.
Which is terrifying. “They can just cancel the wedding,” he told them. But let’s say they did eventually meet someone they liked; would their love be strong enough to overcome prejudice in the real world? A question is as intriguing as it deserves serious consideration. That’s why we wanted to investigate it further.

He went on, “I’ve been through the whole dating your best friend and breaking up thing. It would be unfair to the person you will eventually settle down with if you continued seeing that individual. I wouldn’t want my current girlfriend to be hanging out with her ex-boyfriend. What you did was not cool. I don’t think anyone would enjoy that.”
