When you hear the term “serial killer,” Jeffrey Dahmer is likely one of the first names that come to mind. He is one of the most notorious and prolific serial killers in United States history. Here you will read details related to Is Jeffrey Dahmer still alive or not?

At least 17 men, primarily gay and/or people of color, were killed by Dahmer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, between 1978 and 1991, all to fulfill his personal s*xual needs.

Some of his victims were as young as 14, and after he tortured and killed them, he would use their bodies for s*xual practices, devour their remnants, or store bits of the corpses in his apartment. Police were able to track Dahmer down to his home in 1991 thanks to the brave escape of a potential victim.

His kitchen had four severed heads and several bags of human organs and body parts when the cops finally caught up with him. A collection of Polaroids revealed multiple victims in various stages of dismemberment, and a large drum in his bedroom contained four torsos dissolving in acid.

Later, in taped interviews without a lawyer, Dahmer would freely confess to all he had done. Although he admitted to having a “preferred physical type,” he denied any intent to target people of color specifically.

These tapes are part of Netflix’s ongoing Conversations With A Killer series and are scheduled for release in October. However, before then, the streaming service will debut Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, directed by Ryan Murphy and starring Evan Peters (American Horror Story) in the lead role.

At his trial, the focus shifted away from whether or not Dahmer was guilty and toward the question of whether or not he suffered from a mental disease that prohibited him from controlling his emotions. In the initial hearing, which took place in February 1992, Dahmer pled guilty but claimed insanity as a defense.

Both sides of the case used expert witness testimony from psychiatrists and doctors to argue that Dahmer suffered from various mental illnesses, including schizotypal disorder, borderline personality disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Differentiating between these diagnoses, however, is whether or not he would be unable to control his compulsive behaviors. Defense attorneys claimed he was mentally unfit at the time of the crimes. Still, prosecutors countered that he had ample opportunity to confess and planned the killings while concealing evidence.

The defense claimed he was not of sound mind at the time of the killings. At the same time, the prosecution countered that he had numerous opportunities to confess and had instead planned the murders and hidden evidence, demonstrating that he was fully aware of the gravity of his actions.

After requesting a Bible while awaiting his trial, Dahmer developed an unhealthy fixation on Christianity behind bars. Soon after, in May of 1994, he dedicated his life to the Christian faith by getting baptized.

Two months after his baptism, one convict slashed at his throat with a toothbrush with a razor. This was one of several attempts in his life. Those who knew Dahmer well, including his parents, have said he was prepared to die as punishment for what had happened.

On November 28th, convicted killer Christopher Scarver used dumbbells stolen from the prison gym to bludgeon him. Another local killer, Jesse Anderson, was severely hurt in the same incident.

Dahmer made it to the hospital, but he passed away an hour later. Sadly, Anderson passed away two days later. Scarver shortly after the attack admitted to the killings, saying that “God had instructed him to do it.” Two further life sentences were imposed on him.
