The couple said on Wednesday that Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan are expecting their third daughter in 2019. Using Instagram, Zuckerberg expressed his feelings with the caption, “Lots of love. I’m delighted to announce that Max and August will soon have a baby sister.
Max, born in 2015, and August, born in 2017 are the couple’s two daughters. Chan and Zuckerberg have been married for ten years; they first met at a Harvard frat party in 2003.
Until last year, when it rebranded as Meta, Facebook was always an awkward third wheel in the relationship between Chan and Zuckerberg. Facebook‘s IPO occurred the day after the pair tied the knot in 2012. The new parents committed 99% of their Facebook shares, worth roughly $45 billion at the time, to the cause. With Facebook’s price dropping by 60% this year, the value of these shares has decreased significantly.
The pair didn’t stop writing to her when their daughter August was born. The initial letter that Zuckerberg and Chan wrote to Max was lengthy and severe, but the one that they wrote to August looked more casual and individual.
