Dopesick is a drama miniseries written and directed by Danny Strong for the American streaming service Hulu. It started on October 13, 2021, and ended eight episodes later, on November 17, 2021, based on Beth Macy’s nonfiction book Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company that Addicted America. The documentary Dopesick zeroes in on “the epicenter of America’s struggle with opioid addiction” across the country, the impact on individuals and families, the alleged conflicts of interest between Purdue Pharma and government agencies like the Food and Drug Administration and the United States Department of Justice, and the legal case against Purdue Pharma and their development, testing, and marketing of the drug OxyContin.

Michael Keaton as Dr. Samuel Finnix

Michael Michael Keaton, aka John Douglas, is a famous actor from the United States. He is well recognized for his portrayal of Bruce Wayne/Batman in the Batman and Batman Returns films, and he will be reprising the character in the next DCEU film, The Flash (2023).

Peter Sarsgaard as Rick Mountcastle

U.S.-born actor John Peter Sarsgaard. Dead Man Walking (1995) was his debut film role. After that, he appeared in the 1998 indies Another Day in Paradise and Desert Blue. Later that year, Sarsgaard had a significant part as Raoul, Athos’s doomed son, in the film The Man in the Iron Mask.
