Ubisoft Just Revealed Four New Assassin’s Creed Games Set In Baghdad, Japan, And Others

New Assassin's Creed Games Set

During the live stream for the company’s Ubisoft Forward 2022 event, Ubisoft provided details on what we can anticipate from the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Instead of just one new game, the now 15-year-old brand will soon be getting at least four new entries, one of which will be set in a location that fans have requested for a long time.

Listed below are the upcoming installments in the Assassin’s Creed video game series.

Mirage: Assassin’s Creed

When we first reported on Assassin’s Creed Mirage, very little information about the game was available to the public. We can look forward to more information thanks to a brand new computer-generated trailer that was just released.

This game takes situated in Ancient Baghdad, as the rumors stated, and features a child version of Basim, who has appeared in several of the most recent Assassin’s Creed games, the most notable of which is Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

Basim is shown in this scene undergoing training to become a member of “The Hidden Ones,” also known as the group that would eventually become the Brotherhood of Assassins. This scene takes place approximately 20 years before the title. Shohreh Aghdashloo, who stars in The Expanse, provides the voice of Basim’s mentor.

It is anticipated that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released sometime in 2023. According to Ubisoft, this instalment will bring the series back to its beginnings. We do not know whether this indicates that Mirage will be on a smaller size than previous Assassin’s Creed games or whether it is because the game will take place in the Middle East, just like the very first Assassin’s Creed game.

Game Of The Year: Codename Red

The most surprising piece of information, which is also quite welcome, is that Ubisoft will at long last publish an Assassin’s Creed game in feudal Japan. Because this is a location that fans have been clamoring for many years, I say “finally.” We saw a rapid trailer that featured a shinobi who we can only assume is a Hidden One or is currently through training to become a member of the order.

As I mentioned in the summary of Ubisoft Forward 2022, it will be fascinating to see how this game stacks up against the fantastic Ghost of Tsushima. After all, the hit game on the PlayStation is essentially the Assassin’s Creed game that is set in Japan, which is something we’ve been waiting for.

Aristocrat’s Creed Infinity, Valhalla, And More

Later on in 2022, a brand new downloadable content pack will be added to the already huge Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. Even while Ubisoft did not come out and confirm it, the fact that this expansion is called “The Last Chapter” almost certainly indicates that this will be the last piece of downloadable content for this game. The teaser trailer, which was only a few minutes long, did not, unfortunately, provide very many details about what we might anticipate.

Ubisoft also highlighted Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which will serve as a type of online hub for subsequent games in the franchise and will likely allow players to engage in it; however, we do not precisely know how that will work out. Assassin’s Creed Infinity Was available sometime in 2018. In addition to the game referred to above as Codename Red, another game referred to as Codename Hexi will be included under the Infinity banner.

The last thing that was announced was a mobile open-world game called Project Jade, which takes place in Ancient China. The developer Ubisoft has stated that the new game will include all of the content seen in the mainstream titles, however, it has not specified what this implies.

Standpoint

After 15 years, it is quite evident that Ubisoft has no intention of letting the Assassin’s Creed franchise die out. Even if not every entry in the series has been exceptional, on the whole, the series has been of very high quality throughout its run. I’ve been a fan for a long time, so I’m curious to see how these new games will contribute to revitalizing the franchise. Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Codename Red are the video games that fascinate me most.

In the upcoming months (and years), we should gain more information about each of these projects; therefore, make sure to check back here for all the Assassin’s Creed news as it becomes available to us.
