Last Photos Of Queen Elizabeth

On Thursday, at the age of 96, Queen Elizabeth II passed away in the comfort of her family at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. One of the most memorable Last photos of Queen Elizabeth II is of her standing next to a fireplace at Balmoral Castle, beaming and holding a walking stick. On Tuesday, two days before her death, she officially named Liz Truss as the new Prime Minister of Britain, and this picture was taken at that time. Photographer Jane Barlow has taken this picture.

Buckingham Palace released a statement on Monday reading, “The queen received in audience the right honorable Elizabeth Truss MP today and requested her to form a new administration.”

After his mother’s death on Thursday, Charles, 73, became monarch immediately, and tributes poured in from all over the world.

Throughout the 10 days of mourning, church bells will toll mutedly at Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Windsor Castle, among other locations, and Union flags will fly at half-staff. The UK Parliament will begin two days of special tributes, with Ms. Truss and other senior ministers attending a public remembrance service at St. Paul’s.
