Matthew Lawrence and Cheryl Burke have been in the news recently after the rumors of Lawrence cheating on Burke started circulating. At least this is something being assumed by her fans following she posted a video on TikTok regarding a disloyal Ex.
In February 2022, Cheryl Burke filed for divorce from Mathew Lawrence. She shared a clip set to Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain” targeting the term “the last time, the last time.” As the clip displayed her looking at the camera, it said “When he said he would never talk to her again yet I found text messages, viagra, and a necklace hidden in a pair of his shoes.”
Cheryl Burke captioned “The last time is absolutely right! Goodbye forever…” and added hashtags: “#exessucks” “#thelasttime” #goodbyeforever” and “#hopeitwasworthit.” Though she did not mention names, the fans took to comments speculating that she was indicating towards Lawrence, with whom she has filed for divorce following they decided to end their 3 years of marriage.
The clip emerges two weeks after Mathew was pictured with TLC singer Chilli at a Hawaiian beach. Though the rumors of romance were denied by Chili’s representative, stating that the two are friends and were there along with a group.
On February 18, Cheryl filed for divorce stating “irreconcilable differences” and she shared that they separated on January 7. In March, Mathew opened up on the matter and requested the court to stop spousal aid for either person and ask that their prenuptial agreement be bolstered.
How did they Meet for the First Time?
In 2006, Burke and Lawrence met for the first time through Joey Lawrence who is Matthew’s brother, and also competed in Dance with the Stars. The couple was in a relationship for a year prior to splitting and in 2017, the duo once again began and eventually tied the knot in 2019.
Cheryl Burke stated in May that they had been “in couple’s therapy even before our marriage.” “We definitely did try. People evolve. People grow. And sometimes they grow together and sometimes they unfortunately grow apart,” she told Tamron Hall.
She has been talking about her life post-divorce and sustaining her sobriety on her podcast named “Burke In The Game” as she quit drinking back in 2018. During the promotion of the podcast on Good Morning America, Burke noted “I think people tend to think that my life is perfect and through this divorce that I’m still going through, there’s a lot of ups and downs, but I have to put myself first.”
