Who is Carrie Underwood Married to? All About Mike Fisher

In honor of their 11th wedding anniversary, Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are deserving of our congratulations. Early in July, the Grammy-winning country singer posted a sweet message on Instagram: “Happy anniversary, babe! 11 years sure have flown by…here’s to many, many more! Love you!” Fisher, meanwhile, shared a picture from their wedding day and commented, “Happy anniversary @carrieunderwood, hard to believe this was 11 years ago today! Here’s to many more with the best partner I could imagine!!”

In recent weeks, the pair has given us a few glimpses inside their stable relationship, but we’d still like to know how it all began. When did they exchange vows? Find out everything there is to know about Carrie Underwood’s husband right here.

Who is Mike Fisher, Carrie Underwood’s Husband?

At one time, Fisher was a National Hockey League (NHL) center for both the Ottawa Senators and Nashville Predators. He returned to the Predators in 2018, signing a one-year contract, after retiring in 2017. After his team was knocked out in the second round of the playoffs in 2019, he announced his second retirement.

He stated to the NHL, “I am glad I came back. It was awesome. Obviously disappointing, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. I know this team, they’ll learn and grow and be better.” However, he said that he has no plans to come out of retirement again. He added, “I’ve milked this cow as long as it’ll go. It’s bone dry.”

How did Fisher and Underwood first meet?

Their initial encounter sounded exactly like something out of a romantic comedy. The bassist of Carrie’s band, Mark Childers, also happened to be Fisher’s long-time friend, and the musician was eager for the two to get together. Carrie eventually agreed to meet Fisher.

Mike Fisher was headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, whereas Underwood was based in Tennessee at the time. It was only natural for the vocalist to harbor some hesitance. She said on the VH1 show Behind the Music, “I mean, can I make dating more difficult? Let’s get a hockey guy who lives in another country. Awesome.”

The two met at a meet-and-greet event following one of her shows, and they struck up a conversation right away. When she first saw him, she thought he was “hot, hot, hot,” recalls Underwood. That was evident from Fisher’s own words, “The first time I saw her, she was more beautiful in person than on TV.”

Is It True That They Dated Long-distance?

Long-distance relationships are often believed to be doomed, but that was not the case here. As the “Cry Pretty” singer put it, “despite their schedules, they stayed in communication with each other for months.”

“It’s fun to miss somebody,” she told Taste of Country. ” We talked on the phone for almost three months before we actually got together—that was good for us. Then our first real date was on New Year’s Eve, and our first kiss was when the ball dropped.”

The singer proceeded, “We can go weeks without seeing each other. He’s the only guy I’ve never had to worry about. Any guy I’ve ever dated, there would always be that doubt … ‘ He didn’t answer his phone…he what’s doing? ‘It’s late.’ I’m not the crazy-girlfriend type, but there was a little voice in the back of my head. I don’t have to worry about Mike. I don’t think twice.”

When Did They Marry?

The engagement ring has a sparkling yellow diamond that’s allegedly worth $150,000. Fisher proposed to Underwood at his house in December 2009. Their wedding took place at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge in Greensboro, Georgia, just six months later, and 250 guests attended the lovely event.

Do they have any children?

It was in February 2015 that Underwood welcomed their first child, Isaiah Fisher. Jacob Bryan Fisher, the couple’s second child, was born in 2019. Underwood was effusive in her praise of her husband’s parenting abilities during an interview with E! News. She stated, “My husband is as wonderful as he is hot, and I feel like that’s rare.

He’s amazing. He’s such a great dad and he’s so supportive of what I do, and I’m supportive of him and we just love our little family.” For more such updates do follow us only on Venturejolt.com
