Sister Wives is a reality TV show which first premiered on TLC in September 2010. Season 17 of Sister Wives is scheduled to premiere on September 11, 2022. TLC made the announcement about the renewal of the show for another season through Instagram on July 23, 2022. TLC took to Instagram to share a video exhibiting the series title with 4 wedding rings strung up on the “I” of “Wives.”

It also featured a wedding ring among the four falling off which made fans think that it indicates Kody and Christine’s separation and further, the bumpy details about their divorce would be the center of the upcoming season.

Sister Wives Season 16 Featured End of Kody and Christine’s Marriage
Christine and Kody weren’t amicable when the finale for Season 16 of the series premiered. Wife number 3 had rolled up all Kody’s stuff and ended up putting all those things in her garage.
In a “One on One” special, Christine said “It’s over. The intimate part of our marriage is over,” adding further “And to be honest, I’m not OK with that. I’m not OK with staying in a marriage where there’s no intimacy. That’s not a real marriage. I’m not interested in a half marriage or a partial marriage or whatever we have.”
Though Kody wasn’t fully surprised by the fact that Christine was serious about leaving him. He said “I didn’t know she was going, ‘Oh, I don’t want to be married to Kody anymore,'” adding “I mean, I had heard rumors from my children that she had been kind of throwing things around and even other wives saying, ‘Oh she’s always threatened that she was going to leave.’ And I’m like, ‘Why am I in the dark here?'”
On the February 20 episode of “One on One: Part 3,” Christine and Kody both accepted they had divorced spiritually. Before Season 16, Christine made it open that she is no longer together with Kody.
In November 2021, she took to Instagram writing “After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” adding further “We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family.”
