On Monday, Rittenhouse was quoted as telling Tucker Carlson of Fox News that “We’re going to make the media pay for what they did to me.” “They made it such that I had a difficult time leading a regular life… Because of my anxiety about being rejected by potential employers, I don’t believe I’ll ever be able to get or keep a job.
Neither Rittenhouse nor his lawyer, Todd McMurtry, provided any specifics on the media outlets or celebrities who may be subject to a lawsuit, nor did either of them clarify the number of damages that Rittenhouse will seek.
During the course of the interview, Rittenhouse stated that he is unable to obtain employment or visit public places because he requires security at all times.

McMurtry told Carlson that Zuckerberg’s claim that what Kyle was participating in was a mass murder was defamatory.
“Mark Zuckerberg proclaimed in a videotape that what Kyle was involved in was a mass murder,” It would appear that he was referring to a post that was posted by Zuckerberg at the end of August 2020 that addresses the shooting that had a place in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
There are ongoing discussions taking place about the potential filing of other lawsuits against individuals in the media who have claimed that Rittenhouse is a white supremacist.

Previously, McMurtry represented Covington Catholic student Nicholas Sandmann in his defamation cases against CNN, NBC, the Washington Post, and other publications. Sandmann had claimed that the defendants had falsely accused him of sexual assault.
The lawsuits were filed as a result of an event that occurred in Washington, District of Columbia, in January 2019, during which he and several students were challenged by a Native American activist.
