Roger Jenkins: Early Life
Roger is born on 30 September 1955 in England. His full name is Roger Allan Jenkins and his father is a manager in an oil refinery. He completes his education at Edinburg Academy and graduate from Heriot-Watt University. As an athlete, he represent Scotland and Britain in several international games and Commonwealth Games in 1978. In World Student Games he won the silver medal. Jenkins started his career at the oil and gas company BP. In 1977, he join Barclays and in 1987 he worked for Kleinwort Benson, as the director of Ficial Market. In 1994 again join Barclays.

Jenkins worked analyzing tax systems in several countries and his group was known as Barclays Capital Structured Capital Market. In 2009, a complaint inside the Structured Capital Market, that, “the deals are so big you never say billion or million, you just say 16 bucks or 16 quid which meant billion”. Also “was so big it became the engine of growth for the whole of the investment banking arm”.

In 2006, The Wall Street Journal claimed that in 2003, Jenkins establish a fraud company name Augustus Funding LLC, and a $ 317 million profit gain and tax paid $ 94 million, But it was surprising that there is no workers, no customers, and no products.
The Wall Street Journal also said, “ “elaborate structure and cash flows”, both Barclays and Wachovia were able to take credit for a full payment of the tax, meaning the $94 million could be claimed twice (a so-called “double dip”). The report suggested that Augustus Funding was one of at least nine structures involving US banks set up by Barclays. Barclays called the account of the transactions “materially inaccurate”,
Wachovia gave a statement that “complied with all applicable laws and regulations”.
After Leaving Barclays
In 2009, he left Barclays and start his own business, Elkstone in the Middle East. After then he continuously increased his business and invent a new advisory firm in Dublin. In 2011, it was announced that Roger was back in BTG Patual as a managing partner. In 2016 he invest in the cultivation of cannabis.
