Shivon Zilis Twins: Insider reported that Elon Musk gave birth to twins in November 2021 with Shivon Zilis, head of operations and special projects at Neuralink, claiming court records related to the children.
According to the confidential court documents published by Insider, Musk (51) and Zilis(36) requested that the names of their children be changed to reflect Musk’s last name. Insider reported that the petition’s request, which said that their names should “include their father’s last name and have their mother’s last name as part of their middle name,” was approved earlier this year.
The twins were born a few weeks before the birth of Exa Dark Siderael Musk who is Musk’s second child with musician girlfriend Grimes. She gave birth to a daughter through a surrogate in December 2021. Musk is the world’s richest man with more than $200 billion in assets and the father of 9 children. As per his tweet, he has been a strong supporter of increasing the birth rate. In a May tweet, he stated that the U.S. birth rate has been “below min sustainable levels for 50 years.”
A statement from Tesla and Neuralink was requested by CBS MoneyWatch, but neither company responded right away. Musk claimed in a tweet on Thursday morning that a “collapsing birth rate is by far the biggest danger civilization confronts” and that he was “Doing my best to address the underpopulation catastrophe” in response to Insider’s report.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Yale alumna Zilis joined Neuralink in 2017. She is on the boards of the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute. She is also a fellow at the Creative Destruction Lab, which she defines in her CV as a machine learning incubator at the University of Toronto.
Musk and Canadian author Justine Wilson were wed from 2000 until 2008 and had six kids together. According to Wilson in a Marie Claire article, their first kid passed away from SIDS at the age of 10 weeks. The couple then gave birth to twins and triplets.
An application to officially change one of the twins’ names and transgender to Vivian Jenna Wilson was approved earlier this year. Vivian has given her statement in court documents that she “no longer lives[s] with or wish[s] to be associated with my biological father in any manner, shape, or form.”
Additionally, Grimes and Musk have two kids together. The first, a boy named X A-12, was born in March 2020, while the second was conceived in December, only a few weeks after the birth of his twins with Zilis.
