Olivia Namath

Olivia Namath

Olivia Namath is one of former New York Jets quarterback Joe Namath’s two children. She is his daughter with his ex-wife, Deborah “Tatiana” Mays. Joe may have had a fulfilling existence on the football field, but his personal life was not all sunshine and rainbows.

From coping with his adolescent girls to divorcing his wife of sixteen years, his personal life certainly had its ups and downs. However, we focus on his youngest daughter, Olivia, who has had her own set of growing-up challenges.

In the text below, learn all about her previous blunders up to her current status as a mother and wife.

Olivia Namath’s Early Life And Ancestry

Olivia Rose Namath was born on December 11, 1990. Rose Namath, her grandmother, gave her the name.

Rose (née Juhász) and János “John” Andrew Namath, a steelworker, were her Catholic, Hungarian-descended paternal grandparents. Olivia’s great-grandfather, András “Andrew” Németh, also known as “A.J.” to his family, immigrated to the United States in 1911 on the steamship Pannonia and worked in the coal and steel sectors in the greater Pittsburgh area.

The Mays, Olivia’s maternal ancestors, was one of the prosperous families in Ligonier, Pennsylvania.

Olivia Namath’s Parents’ Marital Relationship

Joe and Deborah Lynne Mays tied the knot on November 7, 1984. The intimate wedding took place in the backyard of one of Deborah’s friends at Coral Ridge Country Club in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Several people attended the poolside wedding.

In the early 1980s, Olivia Namath’s father, Joe, encountered his ex-wife for the first time. At the time, the experienced quarterback chose to enroll in a vocal instruction program taught by the renowned vocal coach Arthur Joseph. Mays was also enrolled in classes at the same institution.

While Joe was beginning his class with Arthur, Mays was nearing the conclusion of hers. Arthur and Mays had known each other for a time, and she had even shared her engagement intentions with him. Arthur stated in Joe Namath’s biography that it was her vision. She had always desired a relationship with a football player.

They ultimately met and began dating the next day. After nearly a year of marriage, Joe and Mays gave birth to their first child, Jessica Namath. On December 11, 1990, Joe gave birth to her second daughter, Olivia Namath, years after the birth of her first daughter.

Olivia’s Parents’ Separation After Years of Togetherness

After having two kids together, Joe and Mays’ relationship deteriorated. Deborah finally left Joe’s residence in September 1998 and began residing in California.

There fell in love with Brian Novack, a surgeon. Mays reportedly stated that she was growing tired of Olivia’s father and had developed an affection for Novack.

In 2000, Olivia’s biological parents divorced, and her father was awarded exclusive custody of Olivia and her sister. The father of two currently dwells on 1.5 acres of land in Tequesta, Florida.

Joe’s residence contains four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a boat dock, and a swimming pool. In addition, the community of Tequesta features a private 18-hole golf course.

Olivia Has An Older Sister

She has one elder sister, Jessica, approximately four years older than she is. Jessica is a graduate of the University of Alabama, where her father also attended.

Olivia’s older sister is married to Brian Kennedy, with whom she has a child. In August 2019, Jessica filed for divorce after their relationship broke down.

Olivia Namath Had Her First Child At 16

In August 2007, Olivia Namath and her husband had a daughter, Natalia, in West Palm Beach. She was 16 years old. Natalia was reportedly staying with Mays in California for unexplained reasons. She was still attending high school in Florida at the time.

After the birth of Olivia’s baby, Joe told the Palm Beach Post that Natalia’s birth was one of the fantastic things. He said that he was pleased everyone was in good health.

The baby’s birth certificate was named Edwin Baker III, who was 19 at the time, as the father. Baker, Olivia’s spouse, is a native of Jupiter, Florida. In 2006, he was arrested three times for possession of crystal methamphetamine, grand theft, and burglary. A year prior, he was arrested and charged by police for robbing a McDonald’s restaurant.

According to the Daily News, Joe’s ex-wife relocated the child to California so that Olivia could finish high school.

Her Married Life With Husband Edwin Baker

Olivia Namath and Baker were married in 2013 in the magnificent Ca’d’Zan estate of circus king John Ringling. As previously stated, the couple has a daughter named Natalia.

Baker the spouse of Olivia, is an artist whose work is steeped in street art. Picasso and Basquiat are among the painters that have inspired him.

In May 2018, Baker produced the collage I Get More Beautiful Daily (2018). It was for the fourth annual Art New York Baker exhibition.

Olivia was arrested for possession of illegal substances.

In 2010, three years after the birth of her first child, Olivia was caught speeding in West Palm Beach. Later, a police officer found an open bottle of rum and marijuana in her vehicle.

Olivia, who was 19 at the time, was driving a silver Mercedes when she was stopped by police, according to the Palm Beach Post at the time. The Post said that an arresting officer discovered a half-pound of marijuana after searching the vehicle. Olivia denied knowing anything about the drugs.

Olivia and her sister tried their parents’ patience. In a 2005 interview with the New York Times, Joe Namath stated that parenting his girls between the ages of 12 and 17 was the most difficult.

The former football player said that ages 12 to 17 were difficult. He recalled the episodes and said that at some point, it became almost as if they were not being realistic or reasonable.

Nevertheless, he deemed the time enjoyable since the most important aspect was learning to be patient and continue to listen and not just hear. Olivia’s father stated that those moments likely would not have been significant throughout those years.

Olivia And Her Sister Tested The Patience of Their Parents

According to a 2015 ESPN profile on Joe Namath, his wife Tatiana Mays was instrumental in his 1987 sobriety. Olivia’s father reported that Mays offered him a request in which she threatened to tear up their family if he did not stop drinking. Joe would experience relapses around the time of his divorce in 2003 and, notoriously, on Monday Night Football that same year.

What is Olivia Namath Currently Doing?

Olivia does not appear regularly with her father, Joe Namath, as Jessica does. Despite this, she has not been distant from her father. The former Super Bowl winner has attended Olivia and Edwin’s art show alongside Olivia and her husband multiple times.

Unlike her father, Olivia has difficulty navigating social media. While it’s tough to argue that she has no online presence, she looks disinterested in Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter platforms. And her husband’s position is not dissimilar.

The pair have kept a healthy separation from the reach of tabloids. This has thus made it rather difficult to determine Olivia’s current lifestyle. Speculations indicate she is quite busy becoming a mother and maybe supporting her artist spouse.
