The supernatural horror film, It, is an American coming-of-age film written by Chase Palmer, Cary Fukunaga, and Gary Dauberman; and directed by Andy Muschietti. The film is inspired by a novel named It, written by Stephen King.
The first Chapter of the film is also known as It: Part 1 – The Losers’ Club and on-screen titled It Chapter One. The first Chapter was released in 2017 and was a critical and commercial success.
The follow-up of the film: Chapter Two, was released on September 6, 2019, covering the rest of the story from the novel.
It is considered one of the best horror films and fans have been expecting It Chapter Three since the release of the sequel of the film. Here’s what we know about It in Chapter Three so far.
Is Chapter 3 Announced?
As we know, the film is based on a novel that was fully covered in the second Chapter leaving no source material to be adapted from. Though the director, Andy Muschietti, once hinted at It Chapter 3 in a 2019 interview while talking about the success of the previous two chapters.
In an interview with io9, Andy opened up about a prospected third chapter saying, “There is a whole mythology to the book. Mythology is something that always has opportunities to explore,” adding further, “It [aka Pennywise] has been on Earth for millions of years.
He’s been in contact with humans for hundreds of years, every 27 years. So, you can imagine the amount of material.”
Though he hinted at the third Chapter, nothing had been confirmed then. He said, “It’s always exciting to think of eventually exploring this mythology. It’s fascinating. But, for now, there’s nothing on the table.”
Chapter 3 Release Date
Though there is no official confirmation about the potential Chapter three of the film series, many speculations claim It Chapter is in the works.
If it turns out to be accurate, we can expect it to be released either by the end of this year or early next year.
Chapter 3 Expected Cast
