Vanessa Hudgens’s Net Worth

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the estimated net worth of Vanessa Hudgens is said to be $18 million. She has achieved immense success as a singer and also as an actress as well.

Early Life

Vanessa Hudgens was born on December 14, 1988, in Salina, California to Gina and Gregory Hudgens.

Her mother used to work in an office whereas her father worked as a firefighter. She grew up in many places up and down the West Coast of the U.S from Southern California to Oregon. She also has a sibling, a younger sister, Stella who is also an actress.

Since she was young, Vanessa was fond of performing and when she was 10, she started performing in local musical theater productions in 1998, including productions of shows such as “The Wizard of Oz”, “Carousel”, “The Music Man”, “The King and I”, and “Cinderella”.

After a few years, Hudgens started to try to shift to television and auditioned for many television shows as well as commercials. Following her first commercial, the family relocated to Los Angeles to help her in building her career in the industry.

She went to Orange County High School of the Arts; however, she could not continue it for a long time and ended up completing school through homeschooling with the help of tutors.

Personal Life

From the period 2005 to 2010, Hudgens dated Zac Efron, her High School Musical co-star, and then in 2011, she started dating actor Austin Butler but the couple broke up in 2020. In 2021, Vanessa took to Instagram to confirm her relationship with Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Cole Tucker.

She paid $1,000 in May 2016 in restitution for damage to U.S. Forest Service property by engraving initials within a heart on a rock in the Coconino National Forest and featuring it on her Instagram feed.

Vanessa posted an Instagram video in March 2020 in which she mentioned that it is “inevitable” that people will succumb to death due to the coronavirus pandemic and that resulted in controversy since critics blamed her for reducing the effect of the disease and the necessity for precautionary measures. Later, she issued an apology for her “insensitive” comments.

Hudgens acquired a $2.75 million property in 2008 in Studio City, California. In February 2019, she listed this home for sale for $3.85 million, and apparently closed the deal in April 2019 for $3.15 million.

Vanessa acquired a home for $4.9 million in LA’s Los Feliz neighborhood in 2018  and in March 2022 she sold this home to Ronan Farrow and his partner Jon Lovett for $6.7 million.

Career

Vanessa made her professional acting debut with the role of Tiffany on an episode of the television show titled “Still Standing”. She then appeared as a guest star in an episode of “Robbery Homicide Division”, prior to landing her first acting role in the 2003 film titled “Thirteen” where she portrayed a supporting character.

In 2006, she booked the lead role of Gabriella Montez in the Disney Channel Original Movie titled “High School Musical”, beside Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale and her performance raised her to the spotlight.

The film became a hit, and was viewed by 7.7 million people in its premiere broadcast in the U.S. Furthermore, presenting her stellar acting performance, the movie also showcased her singing talent as well.

She recorded many songs for the movie’s soundtrack which became successful commercially especially her duet with Zac Efron titled “Breaking Free”, which debuted at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.

Then, in September 2006, she released her first studio album entitled “V” which peaked at number 24 on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States. The Recording Industry Association of America certified the album as Gold.

Vanessa returned in the 2007 follow-up film titled “High School Musical 2”, to reprise her role as Gabriella and the sequel became even more successful as compared to the first one, making it the most-viewed Disney Channel Original Movie of all time.

Once again, right after the film, in July 2008, Vanessa dropped her second studio album entitled “Identified”. But in spite of peaking at number. 23 on the Billboard 200 chart, the album was recognized as a commercial failure, and as a result, parted ways with her record label, Hollywood Records.

Vanessa once again featured as Gabriella in October 2008 in the third film in the High School Musical franchise, titled “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” and it was the only one in the franchise to have a theatrical release and earned $42 million in its opening weekend only, breaking the record for biggest opening by a musical, which was earlier held by the movie titled “Mamma Mia!”.

The movie apparently grossed $252 million globally.

After the High School Musical series, she preferred to take a step back from her career in music to pay attention to her acting performance, and later, she was featured in the movies such as the 2009 musical comedy “Bandslam”; the 2011 film “Beastly”, which was inspired from a novel written by Alex Flinn; the 2011 action movie titled “Sucker Punch”, the 2012 film titled “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island”,  “Spring Breakers”; the 2013 film “Gimme Shelter” and “The Frozen Ground”; the 2018 film “Dog Days”; “The Princess Switch” and “Second Act”; the 2019’s “The Knight Before Christmas” which she executively produced as well; and the 2020 movie titled “Bad Boys for Life”.

In addition, she was also featured in the first and only season of the 2017 NBC show titled “Powerless”.

Hudgens has also been involved in several stage productions, along with the production of “Rent” in 2010 which was directed by Neil Patrick Harris, and the production of “Gigi” in 2015. Later, Vanessa has also featured in 2 Fox live musical presentations: the 2016’s “Grease: Live”; and 2019’s “Rent: Live”.
