Shannon Goad “Shay” Sharpe was born in Chicago on 26 June 1968. He is Sterling Sharpe’s younger brother. He was a football and basketball player at Savannah State.
He competed in jumping and throwing events on the track. Sharpe set personal bests in the long and triple jumps of 6.73 meters and 14.73 meters, respectively. He also had the best discus throw of 42.06 meters.
