WEEEKLY (previously popular as PlayM Girls and FAVE Girls) is a seven-member girl group under IST Entertainment. The group consists of Lee Soojin, Shin Jiyoon, Monday, Park Soeun, Lee Jaehee, Jihan, and Zoa.
In June 2020, they made their debut with the release of their first album titled ‘We Are’ which has the title track Tag Me (@Me).
So, let’s have a look at the profiles of these WEEEKLY Members:
Lee Soojin
Lee Soojin is the leader, main Dancer, and sub-vocalist of the group. She was born on December 12, 2001, in Seoul, South Korea, and her representative Color is Pink. Her English name is Kate and she has also a sister. Lee attended Jamsil Middle School, Youngpa Girls’ High School, and Dongguk University (Department of Drama). She also attended D.E.F Dance Skool Academy.
In February 2018, she was a model of ETUDE for their Spring Collection (Colorful Drawing). Lee’s idols are IU, OH MY GIRL, APINK, and Park Hyoshin. She was a contestant in MIXNINE alongside Jiyoon and Soeun.
On December 31, 2017, she met in a car accident along with the former fellow trainees Soomin and Bowon which led her taken aback by the competition she also suffered stomach trauma due to that accident and so, she had to undergo surgery to recover.
Shin Jiyoon
Shin Jiyoon is the Lead Vocalist and Sub Rapper. She was born on March 2, 2002, in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Her representative color is Yellow. Her English name is Beyoncé and her pen name is Bettie. She also has a sibling, a sister.
She attended Yangyoung Middle School and Sunae High School. She is an expert at voice impersonations, talking in other languages, impromptu melody composing, and calligraphy. She also attended LJ Dance Academy. She loves composing, writing lyrics, drawing, studying English, and singing whilst playing guitar.
She goes to a library to read fairytale storybooks quite often. She considers Taylor Swift, Tablo of Epik High, IU, Apink, and TWICE as her role models. Her favorite movie is August Rush.
In August 2021 the announcement was made that Jiyoon has gone on a hiatus because of anxiety and won’t take part in the promotions for the “Holiday Party“. Her motto: “Let’s live blue! (Honestly, Coolly, Beautifully!)”
Monday
Born as Kim Ji Min, she is popular by her stage name Monday and is the vocal leader, main vocalist, and dancer along with sub-rapper. She was born on May 10, 2002, in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and her representative color is Blue.
She has a younger sister, Jiyoon. Kim’s English name is Jessica and she went to Cheongmyeong High School. Her specialties are playing dodgeball, volleyball, handball, gomoku, and workout. She attended KYW Dance Studio.
Her hobbies are playing all types of ball sports and parking games (55th in the world rank). Red is her favorite color and she considers Taeyeon of SNSD and APINK as her role models. – She has been an Apink fan since she was young.
Her fans call her ‘Monday Carey.’ According to Soeun, she has arachnophobia (fear of spiders). She was also the ‘Team Captain’ of her volleyball team in Middle School. “Love in Tokyo” is her favorite movie and her favorite flower is the Rose.
Park Soeun
Born as Park So Eun, she is known by her stage name: Park Soeun and is the dance leader, main Dancer, lead vocalist, and center. She was born on October 26, 2002, in Gwangju, South Korea. Her representative color is Light Blue. She has a brother. Her English name is Sophie.
Park attended Seoul Cheongdam High School and her specialties include playing gonggi, cleaning, and cosmetics. Her hobbies are visiting dog café, solving jigsaw puzzles, watching mukbangs, cooking, watching movies, watching Netflix, painting, and drawing veils.
She is the ‘Dance Leader’ of the group. She considers IU, Ariana Grande, and APINK as her role models. Her nickname is ‘Ssong.’ Her favorite movie is Twilight.
Lee Jaehee
Lee Jaehee is a Sub Vocal and Sub Rapper. She was born on March 18, 2004, in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. She is the only child of her parents and her representative color is Purple. Her English name is Monica and she attended Daehwa Elementary School, Daesong Middle School, Seoul Performing Arts High School (Theater and Film Department).
Her specialties are swimming and creating slime. She considers APINK, Yoona of SNSD, and TWICE as her role models. Her nickname is ‘Lee Jelly.’ Her favorite movies are Aladin and Exit. Her MBTI personality is ENFJ.
She was a child actress with 7 years of experience appearing in movies. She was featured on Sunny Hill’s Goodbye to Romance MV when she was young.
Jihan
Born as Han Ji Hyo, she is popular with her stage name, Jihan. She is the lead vocalist, visual, and center. She was born on July 12, 2004, in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and her representative Color is Red. She is an only child of her parents and her English name is Julie as she was born in July.
She attended Anyang Buheung Middle School, Hanlim Multi Art High School (Musical Theatre Department). She is good at playing the guitar and memorizing choreographies easily. Her hobbies are writing or designing her diary and hopping onto Netflix.
She is a former SM trainee. According to Jiyoon and Soeun, out of all the members, she is the single one who isn’t a homebody and loves to go out on Sundays. She considers Baek Yerin, Ariana Grande, Seohyun of SNSD, and APINK as her role models.
Her nicknames are ‘Bunny’ and ‘Ener-Jihan.’ She and Wonsang of LUCY are cousins. Her favorite movie is 10 Things I Hate About You.
Zoa
Born as Jo Hye Won, popular with her stage name is Zoa and she is the Sub Vocal, Sub Rapper, Visual, Maknae. She was born on May 31, 2005, in Seoul, South Korea, and her representative color is White. Her English name is Amy.
She attended Gyeonggido Elementary School, Seongnam Baekhyeon Middle School, and Apgujeong High School. She can mimic the characters of the “Crash Landing on You.” Her hobbies include dancing, singing, watching Youtube, watching movies, eating, and watching dramas.
She starred in THE BOYZ’s “To all THE BOYZ I’ve Love Before” VCR at MMA 2018. Zoa considers IU, APINK, and TWICE as her role models. ‘Giant baby,’ ‘Zoababy,’ ‘Bambi,’ and ‘Deer’ are her nicknames. Her favorite movies are Harry Potter and Avengers.
