After he left the band, two Eps were produced by Wonho out of which six tracks ranked on the ‘Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart’ in the year 2021.

Starship created a project group in 2014 called ‘Nu Boys,’ and it consisted of four boys: Wonho, #Gun, Shownu, and Joohone. The group was the start of building ‘Monsta X’.

After that, the next year, a reality show was launched by Starship alongside Mnet and the competition was titled ‘No Mercy’. ‘Nu Boys’ also took part in the competition alongside several other groups and ultimately, 6 singers were chosen to create ‘Monsta X’s with Wonho, Jooheon, and Shownu included in the group. 

The group then released many Eps between 2015 and 2019 and Wonho made his debut with his first EP titled ‘Trespass’ which was a hit album. In 2018, he became a renowned name and also appeared in several magazines.

The next year, the rumors of him consuming marijuana illegally started spreading and Starship Entertainment didn’t receive it well, and neither did ‘Monsta X’ fans. And those rumors made him leave ‘Monsta X’ in spite of the fact that those accusations were just based on his past life and not the current one. 

Starship Entertainment made the official announcement on October 31, 2019, that Wonho will no longer continue to be with the ‘Monsta X’ group.

Then, in 2020, Wonho released his first solo album titled ‘Love Synonym Pt.1: Right for Me’ followed by ‘Losing You’ which was released on August 14, 2020. Despite this being his first song in the English language, it received lots of love. In the same year, he released the album titled ‘Open Mind’.

On February 26, 2021, he released his second EP titled ‘Love Synonym Pt.2: Right for Us’, and in the same year, his six tracks from the album made their way to ‘The Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart’.

Then, in October 2021, his first Japanese single titled ‘On the WayEmbrace,’ was released and in December 2021, as a Christmas gift for his fans, Wonho released the digital track titled ‘White Miracle.”
