Kate Middleton and Prince William go on to extend their support to the Ukrainians amidst the country being invaded by Russia. The royal pair went on to visit the headquarters of the Disaster Emergency Committee in London on Thursday to find out more regarding their work to aid people who are impacted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Before their visit, they posted a special birthday wish for Queen Elizabeth on their social media handles. The majesty is spending her 96th birthday at her Sandringham estate privately.

They penned two snaps of the monarch, along with a family picture of the Queen and Prince Philip with their great-grandchildren writing: “Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a very happy 96th birthday today! An inspiration to so many across the UK, the Commonwealth, and the world, it’s particularly special to be celebrating in this #PlatinumJubilee year.”

On Thursday, during their visit, the royal couple who put on pins featuring the blue and yellow of the Ukrainian flag, talked through a video link with help workers on the ground in Ukraine assisting with relief efforts.

They interacted with members of the Ukrainian community and volunteers to know about services that are being provided at the center and also the difficulties they are encountering continuously

They also took homemade chocolate brownies and granola bars for the volunteers from Kensington Palace.

Earlier, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge provided words of support for Ukraine by sharing a statement on their joint @KensingtonRoyal Twitter handle.

The statement from the couple reads: “In October 2020 we had the privilege to meet President Zelenskyy and the First Lady to learn of their hope and optimism for Ukraine’s future,” adding further “Today we stand with the President and all of Ukraine’s people as they bravely fight for that future.”

ON March 1, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to Britain’s royal family for standing in support of the country.

The zelenskyy tweet reads that he and his wife, Olena, “are grateful to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge @RoyalFamily that at this crucial time, when Ukraine is courageously opposing Russia’s invasion, they stand by our country and support our brave citizens.”

He further added “Goodwill triumph.”
